Another Day Out wins over fences at Huntingdon!

Another Day Out becomes our 1st winner of the season after a fabulous display of jumping at Huntingdon. A winner of a point to point before arriving here, her first run over fences was a disaster at Stratford where she scared herself early on and was then never going saw her reverting to hurdles. Apart from her fabulous 2nd at Sandown Park in December she has been largely disappointing and was again disappointing over hurdles at Market Rasen last Thursday. It wasn’t a decision made lightly running her over fences yesterday just four days after that Market Rasen run but she schooled well for Freddie on Sunday and he felt she was fresh and well so we all agreed to run.

Sam Twiston-Davies was very positive on her and filled her with confidence and they never really gave us a moment of concern as they made the sometimes difficult Huntingdon fences look pretty easy and she won as she liked. Thrilled for her owners Rich & Coot Lloyd and Barry Jessup who were able to be there, Paul Proctor and also Gerald Bailey whose wife Caroline was officiating at Chaddesley Corbett. A really fun group of people and hopefully there is plenty more fun to have with her.

Another Day Out makes all

I was at Chaddesley Corbett point to pointing where Freddie finished 4th on Sametegal who tried to make all the running but faded over the final few fences after a busy few months for our wonderful 15 year old. It was the fastest race of the day, apart from the Ladies carrying a stone lighter, so still a good performance and Sammy has finished the season as, we think, Area Champion Family Horse and has helped make Freddie, we think, Area Champion Novice Rider. Whatever the outcome, he’s had a fabulous first season on Sammy & Mr Mafia who has his final race on Sunday.
