A welcome winner!

Relieved is not the word! What a tough winter and thanks to all the team for their continued hard work and to everyone’s support as it was without doubt the longest period we have gone without a winner – since Pinnacle Peak’s awesome win at Cheltenham at the end of October. The horses weren’t right before Christmas but since then they’ve been healthy but we just needed the rub of the green and after 11 x 2nds, 10 x 3rds and 10 x 4ths it happened!

Bobbi you beauty! Bobbi’s Beauty made her chasing debut at Leicester yesterday a winning one and in fabulous style too under Sean Bowen who had also suffered a drought of winners, albeit just 14 days in his case but, with his sights set on the Jockey’s Championship, 14 very frustrating days I’m sure. Thrilled for her owners Ollie Ryan, Jim White and Hugh Leman who have been patient with her. I’ve been keen to switch to fencing as she’s always schooled so well at home and had planned to wait until the new season but this opportunity was too good to pass. She’ll follow up I’m sure.

Wide To West must have heard us mentioning retirement too as he ran a much improved race under a very strong Sean Bowen ride to grab 2nd in the final stride. He jumped well in the main and the fitting of blinkers certainly helped eek out that ability we know he has. Let’s hope that will have given him some confidence and Sean’s advice was to run him on better ground and over as far a trip as we can find! His owners adore him so we were thrilled for them too.

A few of the team joined us at the pub last night for some celebratory drinks and supper. Let’s hope we are enjoying plenty more of those evenings!

Happy connections at Leicester
