Martin’s Blog 21st February

Gloomy and showery here this morning although the team are in good spirits and it is great to have some runners today after a quiet week.

Never quiet here though and it was great to see Michelle Folley and her parents and Uncle John on Saturday afternoon calling in on their way back from a trip to Sandown on the Friday. They were pleased with Brass Monkey and he’s always pleased to see them!

This morning Tyrone Hanlon was in to watch Johnny Og work up the grass first lot. We also worked Any Currency, Cottersrock, Ask Alice, Brass Monkey, Buckle Street, Sporty Yankee, Solstice Star, Dalton Glance, Leriche Belle, Red Type and City Never Sleeps. The rest did either a strong canter or just cantered.

Warren Marston was in and so was Alex Steedman who is competing against Belinda in the York Macmillan Charity Race in June. Plenty of banter as always between them both! It’s going to be an entertaining four months!! Belinda almost doubled her sponsorship last night after lots of support on social media…do take time to read her progress and donate if you can by clicking HERE. She’s only £40 away from £1000 and it would be great to do that today. Such a wonderful cause.

Taunton today with Bobble Emerald and Viking Mistress. Both outsiders but in good form and I’d be delighted if they ran into a place.
