For the money, this is a really good value horse who we know well and will be racing soon. Colin Tizzard initially bought him for over £15,000 before he came to us. As a big, strong, scopey type he is not really a bumper horse so it wasn’t a disappointment when he was out-paced in one at Worcester before staying on late to finish right behind the leaders. He’ll probably go straight into novice hurdling with a view to chasing sooner rather than later.

His sire, Robin Des Pres, comes from a classic jumping line, with his sire the seriously high-class Cadoudal who produced Big Bucks and Long Run. As a half-brother to Robin Des Champs, it is no surprise that he has produced many useful jumps horses. Indeed a number of our owners have had great fun with some of them: Marodima (who won 17 times and was placed 17 times), Possol and our Cottersrock.

The dam is Grove Juliet, is out of a point-to-point winner, and a half-sister to 2m 6f – 3m hurdle / chase winning Leamhog. There are other winning jumpers in the family including half-brothers Bevnott (dual bumper), Peterbrown (2m 7f and 3m chases) and Abbotswood (2m 5f hurdle).
