We were absolutely thrilled to be able to secure this well-bred National Hunt 4yo filly from her local owner-breeder. As soon as we heard that Pomme De Nuit was available on a free lease and so with absolutely no capital cost for owners, we signed her up as the new Martin Keighley Racing Partnership 4 horse from under the noses of several trainers equally keen to have her. With no purchase cost and only £340 per month in training, keep and ongoing costs per owner, she looks absolutely guaranteed to provide affordable and thoroughly enjoyable ownership. Our racing partnerships are organised by Paul Davis and Jon and Jacqueline Hughes, who do a really professional job with frequent communication and full transparency on costs while encouraging everyone to be involved in all aspects of ownership, not least regular yard visits.

Midnight Legend was a very decent NH horse in his own right, winning ten times for David Nicholson. He produced notably tough, hardy types, most famously Sizing John who won the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown this year before landing the Cheltenham Gold Cup as a 7yo. He has done well with mares such as Midnight Tour who won a Listed race at Cheltenham in April.

Pomme is from a gorgeous chasing / point-to-point family through the dam Apple Days, going back to foundation mare Granny Smith. Strongbows Legend did well for Charlie Longsdon over 2½ to 3 miles plus, while close relative Dabinett Moon has won eleven times including the prestigious Ladies’ Open P2P Championship at Stratford this year. The full sister, Rosemary Russet, has already won her bumper for Harry Fry and that’s the route Pomme will be going down later in the autumn.
