Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! Happy Birthday to all the horses today too as all thoroughbreds are a year older today.
Cheltenham today with one runner – Forecast under Gavin Sheehan who has ridden Annacotty to success for us around Cheltenham before. Usual rider Conor Shoemark is unfortunately injured so we wish him a speedy recovery and Harry Stock too who is also out of action. Forecast seems in good form and the extra distance will suit him although it is a very competitive race so we’ll be thrilled if he runs into a place. A great place to start the New Year surrounded by family and friends at Cheltenham.
A busy morning here as usual on a Cheltenham morning with Chairman Jon Hughes and wife Jack in, Paul Davis, Fi Gamble, Sheila Lindsay and Alan Stickley in too – all en route to the races. We love having owners in here to watch their horses and thanks to all our owners for their support throughout 2018 – looking forward to producing more winners for them in 2019!
If there were any sore heads this morning from any of the team then we didn’t realise as all turned up on time and with smiles on their faces so thanks to them and to all their hard work in the past year – an exciting year ahead.
New Years’ Eve morning was equally busy here with Paul Armour in to see his horses and watch Somewhere To Be checked over by physio Maggie Turner after his last fence fall at Leicester in the week. He also brought something for Jasmin, who looks after him and Harry Stock, who was injured in the fall, as a token gesture which was really appreciated by both of them and a kind thought.
We also had a visit from Kim Smith-Bingham and Archie & Billy Ardous who watched the horses on the gallops and caught up with us all. Kim supplies us with lots of our important supplements and is an important part of our extended team.
